Region: Tuscany, Italy

I don’t give many 5 star ratings, but this wine is deserving. It is a blend of 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 10% Cabernet Franc. Produced in the Bolgheri zone Maglianoo in Toscana, Tuscany, in various oak barrels for 12 months and then aged in bottles for 6 months. 14-15% alcohol. This is a medium-bodied wine, dark ruby to purple, with very nice dark cherry, tobacco, spice, earthy tones and a smooth finish.  At this time it can be found on the menu at Biaggi’s in Champaign.
