Region: Maipo Alto Valley, Chile
The Maipo Valley region in Chile is often considered the “Bordeaux of South America”. Cabernet Franc is known as the third grape of Bordeaux (South France), falling behind Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon as the top red wine grapes in that region, and followed by Petit Verdot, Malbec, and Carmenere. This wine is a blend of 92% Cabernet Franc, 5% Carmenere, and 3% Petit Verdot. The grapes are hand-picked, it is lightly filtered, and aged 14 months in 100% French oak. 14.5% alcohol. This is a medium-bodied wine, well balanced wine, with aromas and flavors of black cherry and black pepper. Smooth with a spicy finish.
