This wine is a blend of 50% Syrah, 40% Grenache, 10% Mourvèdre. The Guigal cellars produces wine from from varied soils consisting of sediments, granite limestones, alluvium and pebbles; from vineyards throughout the Rhône Valley. The Guigals select and blend cuvées from over 40 top growers. They will select only 1% of all wines they taste for their Cotes du Rhone Rouge. This wine is aged for a year and a half in oak barrels. 14.0% ABV. It is deep red in color, aromas of dark fruit, blackberry, and spice, with rich black fruit flavors and a touch of clay that along with the medium tannins provides a nicely balanced wine.
