Region: Rioja, Spain

This wine comes from the largest cooperative in the Basque region in Northern Spain and produced from 100% Tempranillo grapes, hand harvested, and aged in American Oak casks. This wine is lighter in body than I usually find in Tempranillo.  It has a brilliant ruby red color, with aromas and flavors of cherry and plum and some cinnamon spice. Don’t expect deep “oaky” aromas and flavors. This is likely from the use of American Oak, but there are still hints of spice and earthy tones. 13.5% ABV.  This Although on the lighter side, this wine has plenty of flavor with a medium finish.
