Region: Cotes Du Roussillon, France

This wine is extremely nice and at a great value.  I was intrigued by the 70% Syrah and 30% Grenache blend, and glad I went with it.  I found that this wine is produced with the Syrah in concrete tank and the Grenache in demi-muids (600 liter oak barrels). It is a deep purple, medium plus bodied wine, with deep aromas and flavors of blackberry, chocolate, with an earthy mineral hint and smokiness. 14.5% ABV. This wine is versatile in the fact that it is great just opened, but also just as good in different ways after breathing for a while or the next day.
