This wine comes from The Charles Krug Winery, which was established in 1861 as the first winery in the Napa Valley by Prussian-born Charles Krug. Today the winery focuses on Cabernet Sauvignon and Bordeaux varieties grown within Napa Valley, with this wine coming from the Yountville vineyards. The winery is under the stewardship of the Peter Mondavi Sr Family, who purchased the historic winery in 1943.
This Cab presents black fruit aromas and flavors that carry through to the long finish. There is decent balance but It needs to be breathe a while to enhance the experience.
