Region: Lodi, California
This Cabernet Sauvignon was created by The Federalist Winery to honor Benjamin Franklin, as displayed on the label. This Cabernet Sauvignon is actually blended with small amounts of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petite Syrah, and Sangiovese. Each grape is grown in Federalist’s vineyards in Sonoma County, and fermented separately, with skins on for an average of 18 days on the skins. This is a full-bodied wine, with aromas of blackberry, blueberry, and spice. The bottle says 14.0% ABV, but winery says 14.9% ABV. I have had this Cab several times. I like the flavors, body, medium plus viscosity, and long finish.
