Here is my chance to bring attention to a very special collaboration that brought together this wonderful selection of wines from Oregon Solidarity Wines.
Back on March 8, 2018 I reposted a Facebook article from Wine Enthusiast Magazine entitled “California Vintner Cancels $4 Million Worth of Contracted Oregon Fruit“.
During the September of 2018 harvest, Rogue Valley (Oregon) winegrowers were notified their fruit contracts from Copper Cane in California were canceled citing smoke taint from the Klondike Fire that burned in the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest. Willamette Valley Vineyards and King Estate Winery joined forces and were later joined by Silvan Ridge Winery and The Eyrie Vineyards to collaboratively make a Rogue Valley AVA labeled Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Rosé of Pinot Noir called Oregon Solidarity.
The net sale proceeds from the wines are donated to the Rogue Valley Vintners to help support vineyards in the region.
Needless to say, as soon as I read the article in March, I quickly placed my order for the 2018 Oregon Solidarity Wine Trio, so I have the privilege of trying all three wines.
