In reply to Scott Paceley. During this visit and another the same day, I tried several wheated bourbons. I really enjoyed most of them. My favorite of the Collaborative Series was the Goose Island.

A bonded, wheated bourbon usually speaks to me. A few are my favorites, but the Silver Oak you reviewed sounds great.

Great review of all that Vixen Hill offers. My husband and I drove over there (about an hour drive from our home) to check them out 2 years ago. We instantly fell in love with the winery and its cozy, welcoming environment. Seeing the joy on the faces of each of the family members was so memorable!

After we sampled some wines and asked questions about the vineyard, Joya encouraged us to walk around the vineyard and pond. So we did and the owner came out to greet us and provided further education.

Their wines are among our favorites for sure (especially the dry reds which are our style)! We enjoy visiting there to hear music and just soak up the peacefulness of the surroundings.

I enjoy visiting all area wineries. Very enjoyable to talk with the owners and customers. We went to the new one in Altamont!
